EDWIN GREAVES, BRINKLOW FC MANAGER, comments on his team's loss @ HawkesmIll Sports...

"We started the game and nobody would have believed what was about to happen in the opening 15 minutes: blink and you would have missed something...

In the 1st minute a Scott Lindley free-kick and a great header by Morgan Pulford put us into the lead: 0-1.

Our joy was short lived as in the 4th minute a defensive mix-up lead to Hawkesmill's equaliser: 1-1.

Hawkesmill started to take charge of the game and took the lead in the 14th minute:   2-1.

25th minute: Hawkesmill doubled their lead and once again our failure to defend as a team was there for all to see: 3-1.

Half-time: 3-1.

The 2nd half started with us a little bit quicker and with a bit more purpose in our play.
In the 56th minute, good hold up play by Blake Kassar and a fine finish by Lloyd Pulford reduced the Hawkesmill lead: 3-2.

67 minutes: Scott Lindley was replaced by Sam Wade and on 76 minutes Nathan Stoute was replaced by Chay Kalym.

We continued to put Hawkesmill under pressure but couldn't force an equaliser.
In added time Hawkesmill had a free-kick that hit the crossbar and went over.

Full-time: Hawkesmill 3-2 Brinklow...

In summing up this game:

A tale of two halves; the 1st half belonged to Hawkesmill. They moved the ball around at ease at times as we struggled to cope with their movement and totally deserved their 1st half lead, even though once again we contributed to our own downfall.

2-1 down away from home after 15 minutes isn't a great start to a game and 3-1 down after 25 minutes left us with a mountain to climb.

In the 2nd half the players responded magnificently and spent large periods of time in the Hawkesmill half. The players, although disappointed to lose another game, can hold their heads up high after this performance. They kept going to the end and on another day we could have got something out of this game.

I would like to wish Lloyd McGrath and all at Hawkesmill all the best for the remainder of the season..."
