OAKHAM UNITED v BLACKSTONES: MATCH PREVIEW...

Oakham United v Blackstones:
Match Preview…

Saturday's game will be my first visit to Oakham United’s Lonsdale Meadow ground and their visitors, Blackstones, lying 5th in the United Counties League Division 1, will look to add to Oakham’s home misery. United are currently languishing in 19th place in the listings, one off the bottom but with new manager Ryan Hunnings now at the helm, an improvement is expected.
RYAN HUNNINGS...

Oakham’s home record makes for dismal reading: 1 win and 6 losses from their 7 league games. They have scored in only two of those matches; the first two in fact and the goals ratio is 4-19, meaning the visiting teams have netted an average of 2.71 goals per game at Lonsdale Meadow, whilst United’s goal average per match on their own patch is 0.57…

Oakham’s recent form has seen defeats at Burton Park Wanderers (4-2) and at Bourne Town (2-0) then on November 1st, visitors Pinchbeck United left Oakham with a 0-3 victory. United’s overall record is 2 wins and 12 losses, with a goal difference of -30.
CAMERON BROOKES...

Chris Fury is the leading goalscorer with 4 strikes…

New signings Jake Mason from Moulton HFC and Cameron Brookes from Melton Town will hope to change Oakham’s poor run of form.

Blackstones have recently arrested their slight drop in form too, for they had been beaten by two teams I have watched recently. They lost at Raunds Town (2-1) and then Buckingham Town (3-1) but managed to beat Potton United at home last week, by 3-2 and will relish this fixture at Oakham, having beaten them 9-0 at home on 16th September.

Their overall record is 8 wins, 2 draws and 4 losses, with a goal difference of +16, leaving them 20 points better off than Oakham.

On the road, Blackstones’ league record is 3 wins and 2 defeats, scoring 11 goals and conceding only 6, meaning netting an average of 2.2 goals per league match away from home and conceding an average of just over 1.

Liam Harrold is the club’s leading scorer with 13, followed by Dan Barker with 6.
