AFC BINLEY MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES REPORTS ON THE 7-0 WIN v BOURTON & FRANKTON...

"Due to the way the fixtures had fallen we were playing Bourton & Frankton for the second week in a row.

We got the game underway and put Bourton under some early pressure.

A couple of early chances were wasted before we took the lead in the 19th minute. Travis Smallwood and Blake Kassar linked up well before Travis Smallwood found Fabian Spence, who scored from close range: 1-0.

We continued to create more opportunities and Tyler Morgan was denied by a very good save from the Bourton goalkeeper. Kyle Metcalfe went even closer with a long range shot which beat the Bourton goalkeeper but unfortunately hit the crossbar.

We eventually doubled our lead in the 40th minute when a Danny Vincent pass found Blake Kassar, who made no mistake: 2-0."

Half-time: AFC Binley 2-0 Bourton & Frankton...

"The 2nd half started much as the 1st half had ended, with us on the attack.

In the 52nd minute good work from Tyler Morgan set up Travis Smallwood, who finished well: 3-0.

On 62 minutes Tyler Morgan again turned provider, this time setting up Blake Kassar to score: 4-0.

After 63 minutes Kyle Metcalfe was replaced by Curtis Smallwood and Tyler Morgan was replaced by Sean Ryder.

In the 65th minute Sean Ryder and Fabian Spence linked up for Blake Kassar to score his hat-trick: 5-0.

On 67 minutes Travis Smallwood was replaced by Will Waddell.

After 70 minutes a Will Waddell free-kick was headed in by Blake Kassar: 6-0.

In the 71st minute Sean Ryder hit the post before completing the scoring in the 78th minute after good work from Steven Young and Blake Kassar: 7-0."

Full-time: AFC Binley 7-0 Bourton & Frankton...

In summing up this game:

"Playing the same team twice in a week is never easy but getting the first goal in this game helped us massively.

Bourton & Frankton kept trying to play football but were unable to cause us the problems that they did last week.

We scored goals at crucial times and finished the game strongly, so well done to the lads today for making sure we got three more points in our push for promotion.

We can now temporarily forget about the League and focus on the Cup again.

Up next for us are Christ The King Reserves from Alliance Division 1 in the Bedworth Nursing Cup Final on Friday 30th March, 7.30pm kick-off, at the Bedworth Oval..."
