NORTON'S VICTORY ON St FAITH'S DAY...

Norton Protection On St Faith’s Day

Defiance,
Like St Faith in the face of ancient Roman might...
Strangers, United, materialised from autumnal ground mists,
To compete stubbornly, taking the fight
To their oppressors with frequent offensives
And studied, tactical defensive
Compliance.
Dressed wounds, stubborn concentration- quite the martyrs for a cause-
On St Faith’s Day; then with their battle won, they paused
And celebrated with dramatic, tight, clenched fists...

Norton United’s win at Romulus on St Faith’s Day, 2014.
St Faith was killed by Roman soldiers for sticking to her beliefs...
Norton did too...

St Faith, as depicted in Overbury Church, near Tewkesbury...
Norton, in black and white stripes, emerge from the Romulus mist...
