ALCESTER TOWN STRIKER LOUIS BRIDGES COMMENTS ON HIS TEAM'S 3-2 WIN v BOLDMERE FALCONS...

MATCH-WINNER LOUIS BRIDGES FINDS A GROIN...

"It was massively important for us to win this game, for irrelevant of what happens from here, you never want to see a team celebrate on your patch. Given the season we’ve had, that would have been a bitter pill to swallow.

I also feel the way some of their lads acted on Tuesday evening and also today, along with some of the spectators, it gave us a little bit more motivation. We try to do things the right way and DJ (Danny Janes) has tried to ensure we win and lose in a way that reflects well on the club...

As to the game itself, we were in my opinion by far the better side, for apart from the two goals they contributed little to nothing going forward. They usually rely heavily on their striker and winger and if you can stop them, they run out of ideas.

DJ had a game plan and we executed it perfectly for most of the afternoon. The character from us to come back from 2-1 down to win shows what we’re about. We’ve got 3 Cup Finals now and I feel that Coventrians on the final day will be a tough place to go and win for Boldmere. We must do our job on Thursday at AFC Solihull and then all the pressure will be on them to go and win that last game.

If Boldmere get the points they require from that last game, we will congratulate them and wish them all the best for next year. The league table never lies at the end of a campaign...

Let’s go now and enjoy the Cup Final on Tuesday. GNP have an excellent side on paper, probably geared more for Division 1 than division 3 but fortunately football isn’t played on paper and we're confident that we can get chances against them.

The key for us is taking the game to them and if we do then we have a great chance of upsetting the odds.

It’s also nice to have a three-day break from playing, for we’ve had four games in six days, so hopefully we’ll be fresh for Tuesday..."
