Water Lilies…

An incongruous, red legged gull
Imitates a frog or a toad,
Precariously
Upon a water lily, an insubstantial,
Floating platform
And inspects the viewer,
Curious…
Sagacious harrying gulls
Gyrate about a misty boat,
Oblivious
Upon its own reflection, substantial,
Sheltering from storm
And crudely demure,
Capricious…
