WORDS ABOUT RACING CLUB WARWICK 8-2 BUGBROOKE ST MICHAELS...

 Badgers Beaten By Racers’ Resurgence…

Townsend Meadow’s artificial surface of course

Assured Bugbrooke St Michaels of a fruitful

Journey to Warwick for this UCL game

And despite a promising opening surge

By the Racers, the visiting Badgers asserted

Themselves to overturn an early deficit and earn

A 1-2 interval advantage, courtesy of Stewart’s brace…

However, after the recess, no doubt an awkward pause

For Warwick, Shearer quickly doubled his tally, an artful

Shot beating the oft wandering goalie, Reeve by name.

And despite his stubborn resolve to purge

The Racers’ rampant attack, luck deserted

The ‘keeper as the tide took a dramatic and disastrous turn

And the Badgers were penetrated, unable to save face…

The turnaround complete, Racer Hancocks’ voice hoarse,

An unlikely but deserved 8-2 victory would pull

Warwick to the top of the league, their waning flame

Ignited by a second period resurgence, an irresistible urge

To penetrate their guests with ruthless, concerted

Attacking with speed and guile. And despite Bugbrooke’s stern

Defending, by the end they looked dispirited and well off the pace…
