DEMON SUNSET... (My new poem about a Porthtowan sunset, early March 2024...)

Demon Sunset…

Wafting slate grey swirls of cloud, by dull amber and peach

Infused, trouble the evening Porthtowan sky

At sunset. A freaky demon mask emerges, a silhouette

From the dark threat of an orange-tipped mass

And the wispy figure into the pallid, yellowy glare

Of the palette rises and oozes above the sinister ocean…

Curling, the evil intentioned creature attempts to reach

The sun and eclipses it until the Porthtowan sky

Turns black, like the glimmering velvet sea, beset

By creams, ash-greys and insipid blues which harass,

Twisting about their deity, which continues to stare

Until the dervish dissipates and fades, slowing its motion…

19th March 2024…

A remarkable sky in north Cornwall, at Porthtowan, early March 2024.

A black cloud form like a cruel mask slowly eased across the evening sky, mingling with a morass of rich colour…
