LISTENING TO KEYWEST'S APPLE TREE HILL...

Listening To Apple Tree Hill…

Tentative, emotive opening lines;
Sad, musing, revealing,
Professing such love through hopeless ageing:
A male voice, engaging,
Sounding self-effacing, whimsical, appealing…

Then a gear changes
And the rhythm checks,
A faint gasp is heard,
Heralding her voice next…

Thrusting, searing, honey tones;
Warm, rousing, stimulating,
Considering that love with delicious inflexion:
A pure voice, perfected,
Resounding, self-assured, theatrical, escalating…

Then the rhythm changes
And the voices fuse;
Their punchlines shared as
Through a finale they cruise…
