STICKER AFC MANAGER ANDY AVERY REVIEWS THE 4-2 WIN v ELBURTON VILLA...

ANDY AVERY: PROBABLY RELIEVED...

"I felt we started the game slowly and on our heels, we were a fraction behind Elburton's speed of play and credit to them for the start they produced.

Kai Stone kept us in the game with two good saves and from that we started to come into the game, started to move the ball quicker with more accuracy and started to create some chances.

We got lucky with the penalty on the end of a good move and Jack Bowyer did what he does best and pounced on a mistake to make it 2-0 before half-time.

The second-half was better from us and I felt we were on top of the game. The third goal was classic Sticker: determination to win the ball back after needlessly giving it away and then counter-attacking straight back with speed.

I was disappointed with the two goals we needlessly conceded, both free kicks given away in areas we know to stand our ground and we didn't defend them well. For that 5 minute period we looked a little nervy, but Jack's 5th hat-trick settled those nerves for us and from there we played with more freedom and width.

Delighted with the win in front of a decent crowd, the vital 3 points and win over our nearest promotion challengers should prove to be a massive positive for Sticker!"
