STUDLEY'S GARETH EVANS & RACING CLUB WARWICK'S SCOTT EASTERLOW COMMENT ON THE 1-1 DRAW BETWEEN THE TEAMS...

THE STUDLEY VIEW...

"We struggled massively during the first-half. Warwick were tactically superior to us for 45 minutes and bossed most of the possession. We weren’t working hard enough get the ball back and when we did we couldn’t keep the ball long enough to be a threat. Warwick only had one decent chance however, despite their domination.

The second-half was much better from us. We started to keep possession, get further up the pitch and put Warwick under pressure. I’d say we slightly edged the second-half in terms of pressure and possession but the more we looked like scoring, the more stretched we became at the back. So despite dominating the ball during the first-half, Warwick actually had more chances in the second-half to win the game, especially in the last 5 minutes.

Before the game we really wanted the win and had we played as we can do then we would have had a good chance. Reflecting after the game, we are probably the happier of the two sides with the draw given that we were nowhere near our best. It shows how far we’ve come as a team since the New Year that we can play poorly against good sides like Warwick but still earn a point..."

THE RACING CLUB WARWICK VIEW...

"The problem I have is that it was the same old scenario: missed chances have cost us. We can't keep saying that however and we have to be ruthless in our offensive play.

The first-half was the best control of a game we have had and I can't remember a game which I've managed or even watched, where one side completely controlled the tempo and the play so easily and at will.

From a defensive point of view  I was also very happy, although Studley's goal was taken well by them, so credit is due there. Other than a half-chance and a few hopeful crosses against us we looked assured at the back all night.

This again highlights our disappointment in only gaining a point. We have come away to the top of the league side and got a point so you might say, "Yeah, not bad..." but the fact that we're disappointed shows the ambitions and expectations of the club and the lads..."
