THE AFC BINLEY MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES COMMENTS ON HIS TEAM'S 3-2 LOSS AT STOCKTON...

"Stockton got the game underway against the wind and defended well against our early pressure.
Although we used the wind to our advantage we didn't work the Stockton goalkeeper, as chances from Fabian Spence, Steven Young, Blake Kassar and Tyler Morgan went wide of or over the target.

In the 28th minute Stockton took the lead when a shot beat Ryan Oldham before hitting a post and unfortunately for us, then hit Andy Godfrey and went into the net: 1-0.

No more chances fell to either side and Stockton took their lead into the break."

Half-time: Stockton 1-0 AFC Binley...

"Stockton started the 2nd half with the wind in their favour and scored within a minute of the restart; a speculative shot was fumbled by Ryan Oldham and a Stockton forward scored from close range: 2-0.

We responded straight away as Blake Kassar scored in the 47th minute: 2-1.

Stockton increased their lead in the 74th minute from a corner, when their number 4 had a free header: 3-1.

Blake Kassar reduced the deficit again with a header from an Andy Godfrey corner in the 88th minute: 3-2.

We forced Stockton to defend during the final few minutes but we were unable to salvage a point."

Full-time: Stockton 3-2 AFC Binley...

In Summing Up This Game:

"This was a very entertaining game of football and although we lost it, I am happy with what the lads gave me today.

Against a good Stockton side who play football the right way, we came up just short but pushed them all the way.

I would like to wish all at Stockton the best for the remainder of the season and I hope that you achieve your promotion.

As for us at Binley, we will keep learning and come back stronger."

Edwin Greaves,
AFC Binley Manager...
