THE AFC BINLEY MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES REPORTS ON HIS TEAM'S 2-6 WIN AT SHILTON...

"Binley got the game underway but Shilton started the better of the two sides and it didn't take long before they took the lead.

In the 3rd minute, a deep cross into our box was headed in by the Shilton number 10 as he outjumped Ryan Lally and gave Charlie Weir no chance in goal: 1-0.

We responded well and in the 5th minute Blake Kassar was fouled in the penalty-box and we were awarded a spot-kick. Unfortunately for us Tyler Morgan had his penalty saved by the Shilton goalkeeper and the rebound was cleared for a corner.

Will Waddell took the corner which was headed in by Steven Young: 1-1.

In an amazing start to this game Shilton themselves responded well and took the lead again in the 10th minute when the Shilton number 3 crossed for their number 10 to score his 2nd headed goal of the game, again giving Charlie Weir no chance in goal: 2-1.

We continued to attack and Justin Lang and then Andy Godfrey shot over the target.

In the 33rd minute a Blake Kassar header produced the save of the game from the Shilton goalkeeper.

In the 38th minute Blake Kassar and Tyler Morgan linked up well to create an opportunity for Fabian Spence, who headed just wide.

In the 42nd minute Andy Godfrey and Will Waddell linked up, with Will Waddell going on a run before crossing the ball to Blake Kassar, who turned and shot to score: 2-2.

We had one more opportunity as Liam Roach headed just wide from another Will Waddell cross."

Half-time: Shilton 2-2 AFC Binley...

"Shilton got the 2nd half underway but it started a lot more quietly than the 1st half had.

In the 61st minute Justin Lang was replaced by Tatenda Bako

In the 64th minute Ryan Lally went on a run and was fouled in the 18 yard box for our 2nd penalty of the game.

This time Fabian Spence took the penalty and scored:
2-3...

In the 74th minute Fabian Spence and Blake Kassar created problems, before Blake Kassar scored: 2-4.

Will Waddell was replaced by Samuel Zengeya before the restart.

Samuel Zengeya made an impact straight away on the game as he went on a run in the 78th minute but he was fouled for our 3rd penalty of the game and this time Blake Kassar took it and scored, to complete his hat-trick: 2-5.

In the 90th minute we scored the goal of the game when Tyler Morgan, Fabian Spence and Blake Kassar all combined well for Fabian Spence to score: 2-6."

Full-time: Shilton 2-6 AFC Binley...

In Summing Up This Game:

"Wow, what an afternoon of football: 3 goals in the 1st 10 minutes and a missed penalty! Blink and you definitely missed something...

Shilton scored 2 good headed goals but we have to be disappointed in conceding them.

Having said that, after finding ourselves behind twice in this game I was very happy with the way the lads finished the match.

We finished strongly and took our chances well in the 2nd half.

I would like to wish all at Shilton the best for the remainder of their season and thank you very much for hosting us..."

Edwin Greaves,
AFC Binley Manager...
