'THEATRICAL FLAMINGOES...' (MY POEM ABOUT A PAINTING BY LILY ELISABETH...)

 Theatrical Flamingoes…

(from a painting by Lily Elisabeth)

Flamingoes, en masse, fraternise,

Their abstract feathers mesmerise,

Confused in their reflections.

They are like ballet dancers

With tutus swirling

On stage, costumes unfurling

In flurries and scurries

And cascading in so many directions…

Necks crane, en masse, vertically,

Their heads peer, horizontally,

Confused in their directions.

They are like chorus-line dancers

Their torsos twirling

About the stage, colours whirling

In quivers and shivers

And parading, even in their reflections…

Really like the effect of the painting…
