AFC BINLEY MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES REPORTS ON HIS TEAM'S FIRST LEAGUE LOSS SINCE SEPTEMBER...

"We got the game underway and from early on Polonia settled the better of the two sides.

In the 23rd minute Polonia's number 2 and 7 linked up well but Ryan Oldham pulled off a brilliant point-blank save to keep the scores level, injuring himself in the process.

Both sides had half-chances but neither goalkeeper was tested any further.

In the 39th minute a long hopeful pass forward from Polonia was collected by Azz Laming whose pass back to the goalkeeper took a horrible bounce and went in: 1-0."

Half-time: FC Polonia 1-0 AFC Binley.

"Polonia started the 2nd half but it wasn't long before we were on level terms again.

In the 49th minute a Fabian Spence pass found Steven Young's run, who crossed for Blake Kassar to score: 1-1.

Tempers nearly boiled over as challenges got a little spicy and both sides knew the importance of this game but Polonia continued to play the better football in this start-stop game.

In the 52nd minute Polonia regained the lead when the number 2 turned and shot low past Ryan Oldham from outside the box: 2-1.

In the 65th minute Tatenda Bako was replaced by Kyle Metcalfe.

On 68 minutes, Polonia increased their lead: 3-1.

In the 70th minute Travis Smallwood was replaced by Tyler Morgan.

After 84 minutes Polonia put the game beyond us when they scored their 4th goal: 4-1.

In the 85th minute Danny Vincent was replaced by Curtis Smallwood."

Full-time: FC Polonia 4-1 AFC Binley.

In summing up this game:

"It's always disappointing to lose a game of football but when your opponents are better than you on the day, you just have to hold your hands up and say well done.

This was our worst defeat of the season and the way we lost today hurts big time.

Hats off to Polonia who totally deserved their victory, they settled quicker than us and played the better football throughout the game.

Although the game had few chances we didn't threaten the Polonia goal and were disappointing by the standards we have set so far this season.
For us it's our 1st League defeat since the 14th September so my lads have done well and been very consistent to date.

We now have to do what we have done previously: learn quickly from the mistakes we made today and improve in the final run in.
Promotion is still in our hands, although this defeat hurts us and will give our rivals a lift.

For me the quicker our next game comes round, the better and I am sure the lads will want to make amends as soon as possible.

Watching Polonia celebrating at the end of the game in the way they did in front of me and my lads is something I will never forget.

This game was all about getting 3 points. We failed and Polonia succeeded.

As we head towards the business end of the season there is still a lot of football to be played and a lot of points to be won or lost.

I for one am looking forward to the next few weeks. My lads and I will bounce back from today and if two other teams are better than us over 24 games, then I will have no complaints."
