RICHARD HEATH BEFORE THE GAME... |
Having three regular starters missing, in Michael Williams, Matty Lewis and Sam Dowdall I knew it was going to be hard but when I saw the GNP team-sheet and they were missing Charlie Cook, skipper Matty Compton and had Nathan Stoute on the bench, I thought we could get at them.
WHEN THINGS STARTED TO GO WRONG... |
GNP are a fantastic side, who are led by Sham brilliantly and they do the basics so well. In three games against them I can’t remember them making a single error against us. Everything you need to achieve has to be earned and they give you nothing.
GOSSIPING WITH SHAM ALAM... |
We never really created anything after that and the scoreline speaks for itself. When we did get behind them we were always met with the best player in the league in my opinion, Leigh Phillips, who was mopping everything up.
We’ve won seven in our last nine games and for us to push for promotion, we can’t have many more defeats, as it’s such a tight league. From finishing second to bottom last year, to promotion hopefuls this season is a real credit to the players.
I came in pre-season with the idea of a top six finish and anything extra would be a bonus.
EXITING SADLY AT THE END... |
