AFC BINLEY'S MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES DISCUSSES HIS TEAM'S 4-1 WIN v GURDWARA GNP...

"We got the game started and put GNP under pressure straight away, creating our first opportunity in the 2nd minute. Will Waddell took a free-kick which Justin Lang headed just wide.

GNP then had their own opportunity when the number 10 shot straight at Ryan Oldham.

In the 4th minute Sean Ryder crossed to Blake Kassar who shot just wide. GNP then went close twice when their numbers 9 and 3 both failed to hit the target.

In the 18th minute we eventually took the lead when Bennie Adeeko and Justin Lang linked up for Blake Kassar to score: 1-0.

GNP responded well and took charge of the game before in the 33rd minute Bennie Adeeko crossed for Justin Lang who had his shot saved.

In the 33th minute Will Waddell took a shot which was deflected into the path of Justin Lang who gave the GNP goalkeeper no chance with his shot: 2-0.

Two minutes later Justin Lang's pass sent Sean Ryder through on goal but he shot over the target with only the goalkeeper to beat.

In the 44th minute we increased our lead when Blake Kassar went on a run from inside his own half, ending up in the GNP box and he played a one-two with Bennie Adeeko, before Melusi Mazwi finished well: 3-0."

Half-time AFC Binley 3-0 Gurdwara GNP...

"GNP got the 2nd half underway but we increased our lead further when Blake Kassar flicked the ball on for Sean Ryder, who this time made no mistake with his opportunity: 4-0.

GNP had another opportunity in the 61st minute when their number 3 crossed but the number 11 shot wide.
Our next opportunity came when Danny Vincent crossed for Justin Lang to shoot wide.

In the 64th minute Melusi Mazwi went on another run before his shot hit a post and a GNP defender cleared.
In the 68th minute GNP were awarded a free-kick on the edge of our box and their number 11 took it. His shot hit our defensive wall and the deflection gave Ryan Oldham no chance: 4-1.

In the 72nd minute Danny Vincent was replaced by Luis Gomez and Bennie Adeeko was replaced by Zach Garland, before on 75 minutes, Will Waddell was replaced by Mtshuza Ncube.

GNP continued to attack and put us under a lot of pressure.

In the 82nd minute Sebastian Kassar was sin binned and then in the 90th minute the GNP number 15 shot over from a good position. In added time Sean Ryder's lobbed shot came to nothing."

Full-time: AFC Binley 4-1 Gurdwara GNP...

In Summing Up This Game:

"This result on paper will look like a comfortable victory for us and I am happy for people to think that.

In truth though GNP were the better side in the first-half and played the better football but we created more opportunities and scored goals, whilst they didn't!

I couldn't believe my luck to be 3-0 up at half-time but I certainly wasn't going to complain. The game was thus over after 45 minutes as a contest but GNP never gave up and had lots of possession, despite not taking their chances.

We made things a little bit more difficult than we needed to today but credit should go where credit is due and GNP gave us another test which my players eventually passed.

I still think that my lads have more to show people but with 4 wins from 5 games and just 1 defeat, I have to say that I am happy at the current time.

It's a new squad that I have assembled for this season and they have surprised me with the start that they have made, although they have worked very hard for me.

We do still need to improve and quickly but I am sure that we will, as even on today's performance I can see a lot of positives.

Going forward, only time will tell what these lads can achieve but for now I can honestly say that this set of players are making me happy..."
