Living In Need Of A Hip Replacement…
Niggling charges seem to scatter
Like irritated nerves, down the length of a resting limb
And the mind becomes agitated,
Frustrated and exasperated by the shivers,
Which facilitate a repositioning of the leg, malfunctioning.
Stiffening pain seems to clutter
Around the hip’s damaged joint, arthritic and grim
And the mentality becomes distracted,
Deflated and aggravated by the quivers,
Which accelerate an imbalance of the thigh pain, excruciating…
Thus I press at the ache in the affected socket
With tight, taut knuckles inside a pocket,
Which slightly relieves the abject physical pain
But fails to address the acute mental strain…

The pain from my left hip tends to shoot along the lower leg like toothache, whilst sitting and lying down takes time to discover any comfort.
Standing up is tough, for the stiffness causes a severe limp for a short while.
Walking is a challenge, attempting not to appear lame.
Getting in and out of a car is mentally debilitating…
There is no real help available from the NHS, which is not a complaint, merely a reality…
