Light Show Above The Granite Wall…
A chill hung in the air, the sea was becalmed and then morning broke
Beyond the parapet of the granite harbour wall, as Mousehole stirred.
A hesitant sun brushed a pale orange emulsion stroke,
Silhouetting a row of hung lanterns and an occasional soaring bird.
A cloud, like a dark foreboding forearm reached across the dawn,
Engulfing the sun’s weak amber and bursting black to charcoal grey,
Then dissipated, loosening a distant rain shower in its scorn,
Before a sharp breeze weakened its grip and ushered it ghosting away…
