WRECKED AT MOUSEHOLE... (My new poem about a Dutch vessel wrecked at Mousehole, Cornwall in December 2000...)

 Wrecked At Mousehole…

The Dutch vessel Dolfyn foundered, forlorn and helpless

In Mousehole’s rocky shallows of dull wintry grey.

Abandoned, no responsibility was ultimately claimed

For its removal and the grim, rusting hulk lay trapped, stranded and hapless…

The ageing trawler was deemed to have no salvage value and was forsaken

In Mousehole’s restless waters, ripped apart over time by the sea’s affray.

A broken carcass, gutted by ocean, and by machinery claimed,

Its entrails were savagely rifled, scavenged and taken…

7th December 2024…

Found my images taken between 2000-2002 during December visits to Mousehole and found out that the vessel which was aground at Mousehole at that time was an ageing Dutch boat called ‘Dolfyn’…

It simply remained just off the shore and gradually broke up, as illustrated by my final two images…
