STANTON, COTSWOLDS... (My poem about the Gloucestershire village...)

 Stanton, Cotswolds…

I lifted my head

And saw it unchanged:

The Cotswolds arranged

Behind foreground gold,

Where sunshine upon stone rolled

The present into the past…

I drifted my mind

And touched it then:

The Cotswolds back when,

Beneath background green

Where autumnal bronze serene

Lured rurality to last…

Stanton, Gloucestershire, such beauty from the past.

Loved it…
