The GNP Sports FC manager, Shamir Alam, provides his personal thoughts on the 0-8 win over Castle Vale in their Midland League Division 3 clash:
"After last week 14-0 demolition of Leamington Hibs the focus quickly shifted to an AWAY game versus a hard working and enthusiastic Castle Vale side which we beat 2-0 in the opening game of the season.
The concern going into the game was a possible hangover from the Leamington result, even though the league table didn't suggest that Castle Vale would provide tougher opposition than Leamington Hibs.
This certainly was the case as a slow and sloppy opening 30 minutes at Castle Vale made hard work of the bottom side in the league, however once we got the first goal, the confidence showed and once again we were clinical in front of goal and did what was required to collect our second clean sheet in as many games.
The players did well to work things out for themselves after the first 30 minutes and it was a good continuation from last weeks fantastic result and performance.
We enter an important and challenging part of our season now and we need all of the players' energy, all their focus and intensity to prepare for the games, as this part of the season really defines who you are and defines you as a team. So good preparation and focus is really important.
Despite Boldmere not winning a league home game since the end of September we know we have to be at our best to get anything from the game. They are probably the best team we've faced at this stage of the season and the boys are looking forward to going toe to toe with them.
Yours in football..."
