POEM ABOUT THE NBA PLAYER KAWHI LEONARD...

Kawhi…

The demeanour understated,
Incongruously lethargic,
The movement spectral;
The eyes betray a lack of emotion,
The stare steely, concentrated,
An apparent sadness in the gaze…

The loping, languid motion,
The wingspan, the winning notion,
The hawking with crooked claw hooked;
The rebound, the turnover, the transition phase;
The intuitive force, the offensive logic,
The power, the stealth, the sudden pause:
  The silent jump-shot dropping to haunt
The defense for two, or a downtown three
And the wraith with the humility in his eyes
Takes the plaudits, takes the prize:
 The Phantom, The Silent, The Enigma, The Wise…

Kawhi Leonard, the Toronto Raptors’ Small Forward in the NBA.

He looks largely unconcerned and lacking emotion on the court but his fine play this year saw him voted the MVP of the NBA Finals, as the Raptors took the trophy to Canada for the first time by beating the Golden State Warriors…
