PINK MOON BADGERS...

 Pink Moon Badgers…

The pallid moon hung in an azure sky

Above Warwickshire’s encroaching

Dusk, over arable fields and a woody scrub

From where badgers emerged, approaching

Stealthily a source of sustenance

Beyond the circumference

Of a refilled water tub…

A lingering red backcloth hung in sunset’s sky

Behind Temple Balsall’s bewitching

Dusk, adjacent to myriad setts in scrub,

From where badger cubs ventured, munching

Healthily the scattered nourishment

Within the environment

Of their clan’s subterranean hub…

Food had been laid out for the badgers in Temple Balsall and in the palpable and nervous silence, hardly daring to move at all, not only did three (maybe one more) adult badgers appear but also three cubs, which looked remarkable…

The video footage was poor, due to the murky conditions but even as the badgers returned to their setts, dark clouds began to cover the new moon…
