ALCESTER TOWN v KNOWLE FC: THE MOWDOG'S MATCH PREVIEW...

 Alcester Town v Knowle FC:

'El Seeleyco'...

OVERSLEY GREEN...

So the Romans entertain the Robins at Oversley Green this weekend. 'El Seeleyco' is used to describe this match-up because Matt Seeley the currently sideline-banned Alcester coach and Knowle's Clive Seeley are of course related. I believe that all conversation between the pair stops totally during the days leading up to the encounter...

Alcester currently lie 7th in the Midland League Division 2, having won 5 games and also lost 5 games but they have drawn a remarkable 8 times in their 18 outings, which is two more than any other team. A goal difference of +2 and a points total of 23 leaves them well adrift of their guests.

MATT SEELEY BEFORE HIS BAN...

Recently in the league, Town beat Boldmere Falcons 5-1 at home, the goals being nabbed by Tug Hewitt with two, midfielder Owen Ward who also netted a brace and Guy Clark who scored the other. Hewitt won the MVP award.

A pair of 2-1 away defeats have followed, first at Inkberrow, a game I saw, which included a penalty goal for the Romans by MVP Ward. The tough defeat at 4th place Fairfield Villa again saw Ward being voted as MVP, whilst Tez Morton scored the consolation goal for Matt Seeley's outfit.

OWEN WARD SCORES AT INKBERROW RECENTLY...

Leading scorer this term is Umit Eminoglu with 10 but he is currently suspended and of course his absence has been and will be a big loss for Town.

UMIT EMINOGLU: 10 GOALS THIS SEASON...

Knowle currently lie 3rd in the division with a game in hand over 2nd placed Coton Green, who drew that extra game and have 40 points to Knowle's 39. An impressive 12 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats have amounted to a goal difference for the Robins of +32.

ZAK HARBON: BACK AT KNOWLE...

Recently Knowle beat Earlswood Town 4-1, the goals coming from Lewis Cosgrove, Tom Cullen, Charlie Morris and a 94th minute effort by replacement Pete Bailey. Jay Payne was voted the MVP.

THE ROBINS' NEST...

Next came a pair of losses, first 0-1 at home to Fairfield Villa, a match which saw Morris acclaimed the MVP for the Robins and then a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Hampton followed, where Nathan Corry scored the Knowle goal and Payne was voted MVP. Hampton had Tom Parnaby dismissed and a lad I know, Hamza Siddique, scored for the hosts after only 4 minutes.

Top scorers for Knowle are Corry and Brandon Hague, who have both notched 8.

NATHAN CORRY: 8 GOALS SO FAR...

This should be an intriguing match and video highlights with commentary, images and a full match report may be found from Sunday at themowdog.blogspot.com
