BRETFORTON OLD BOYS v
MEADOW PARK:
THE RM SMITH CUP FINAL, AT THE HOME GUARD CLUB, TIDDINGTON…
Stratford Alliance Division 1 team Bretforton O.B. will play Division 2 outfit Meadow Park on Tuesday evening at Tiddington in the RM Smith Cup Final…
A cup final in January!
This could well turn out to be a keenly fought match because of Bret’s Division 1 pedigree and also due to Meadow Park’s fine start to this season.
I will be there to cover the match and video highlights with commentary, some images (tough under floodlights) and a full match report will be available at themowdog.blogspot.com from Wednesday…
The statistics below are all taken from the Full-Time website…
Bretforton’s progress to the Final:
A bye in the first round led to a tough game in the round of 16 away at Central Ajax Reserves, who currently lead the Division 1 league table. However, goals by Morgan Ballinger, Aden Booth, Jack Howard Nailor, Simon Large and Harrison Middleton saw Bret progress 1-5.

A 2-3 home loss to Ajax followed, with Zieba and an own goal not being enough against the league leaders but then a disappointing home defeat to Blockley United was suffered in the Nursing Home Cup, as the visitors ran out 1-3 winners. Fin Fowles scored the Old Boys’ consolation goal.
On Saturday on a heavy home pitch, Bret were holding FC Wickhamford to 3-3 until a late flurry of goals saw the Old Boys go down 3-6. Sam Beddoes and Mitchell with 2 scored Bret’s goals…

Recently then, the RM Smith Quarter-Final game v AFC Stratford followed a hat-trick of 6-0 home wins, v Blockley, Inkberrow Academy and Tysoe United. Nathan Benson netted 2 v Blockley and was voted MVP, whilst Horton, Brandon Aston, Powell and substitute Thorn added the others.
