Green Stripes Across The Irish Coast…
(from a painting by Luana Asiata)
Hunched like an irksome gull,
A distant Irish headland tongues sand
Along the sharp horizon, gaudy
Against an idle ocean of pallid mint green,
With sullen outcrops lying barely seen…
A dull patchwork of agricultural land,
Smeared by iridescent greens, tawdry,
Is pierced by the greys and blacks of dull,
Grim seeping rock forms,
Like hovering cormorant shades
Upon the scene, which intriguingly warms
The mind with stunning coastal glades…
