SPILLING OUT ON A COOL WEDNESDAY, FOLLOWING A SWELTERING SUNDAY...

Spilling Out On A Cool Wednesday, Following A Sweltering Sunday…

It had been hot. Stiflingly hot

On the Sunday within the harsh confines

Of the copse in early evening

And my discomfort was almost mirrored

By the visible reluctance of anxious

Badgers to emerge and feed.

It was rather surprisingly not

Sweltering on the Wednesday, with signs

Of high cloud and a distinct cooling

Discomfort within the copse, soon to be invaded

By six snuffling, piglet-like, ravenous

Badgers which sated their greed…

After perspiring wearing a polo shirt and shorts on the Sunday evening, it was a surprise to feel the chill on the following Wednesday.

Interestingly, the badgers were less inclined to appear on the Sunday, yet were very eager to show themselves in the cooler weather.

A coincidence, perhaps…
