Sharply with her red cap and finch’s beak.
Chunky and comfortable, warm and benign,
Her soft eyes seemed coy as she fidgeted.

Seated on a slim branch, the female redpoll looked remarkably sweet.
A seed and insect feeder, she is one of a busy flock which has been visiting the garden regularly, likely due to the presence of an alder tree nearby…
