'RED & BLACK & GLOOM': A POEM ABOUT A PAINTING BY 'BOTANIC_ANGEL_ARTS'...

Red & Black & Gloom
(from the painting by 'botanic_angel_arts'...)

Harsh words having been spoken,
A solitary candle shivered,
Flickering its unease
As her impatience with him delivered
Words to hurt, not to appease:
A love once sure, now irrevocably broken…

Sparse words were uttered,
Her terse lips quivered,
Quickening her release
As the malevolence wavered
Towards hate, not to peace:
A lover’s apologies unconvincingly muttered…

She rose, grabbed her umbrella and with no warming coat
She stormed from the restaurant with bile in her throat;
She blundered out into a rainstorm, blind into the night,
Her anger and self-assurance speeding her flight…

The red and black dress and the crimson umbrella clashed
With the gloomy squall and such gloomy rain which lashed
At her, venting its own wild, hurtful and insouciant attack,
Yet her pride and her vigour forced her not to look back…

The artist will have chosen her own words to accompany this stunning red and black image but the above are my own thoughts…

Somehow, the mental strength is clear and the certainty of a full recovery from this tough period in a lady’s life seems certain…
