Look up…
A suggestion I once made,
Largely forgotten
But I was reminded of this
In Barcelona,
Where domes and spires,
Monuments and sculptures
Fascinated and distracted
From the sketchy trove
Of treasures
And infamy ill-gotten…
Look up…
A decision I now took
Rather lightly
But I was rewarded by this
In Barcelona,
Where Gaudi and modernism,
Pinnacles and memorials
Dazzled and distracted
From the tetchy zone
Of revellers
On La Rambla, unsightly…

A personal view of Barcelona, where for me, the best was seen ‘looking up’, a phrase I used in
Birmingham’s Museum to encourage schoolchildren there to see interesting things…
