BRINKLOW FC SKIPPER TOM FORD COMMENTS ON THE 1-2 LOSS TO KNOWLE FC...

TOM FORD WITH, ER, NOT QUITE A BADGER...

"I was excited along with nervous playing with the new lads that had come into the Brinklow team this season. Having only played known each other for 7 days it was going to be a learning curve.

We started the game on the front foot, having more than our fair share of possession and creating a lot of chances. Going 1-0 up through a Nathan Ellis header (his first game for Brinklow) we conceded to a very dubious goal with the linesman's flag up but the referee decided to ignore that.

The second-half saw the game slowing down. Knowle scored their second goal by a slight mix up by us in defence allowing them to score a simple tap in.

We were unable to get the equaliser we more than deserved but there were a lot of positives taken from the game. Considering we had known each other only a matter of days, we gave a more highly ranked team more than a run for their money."
