CARLTON TOWN'S DANIEL GORDON COMMENTS ON THE 4-1 VICTORY OVER COALVILLE TOWN...

DANIEL GORDON...
Many thanks to Daniel, who also sent me a full list of the Carlton players from the game...
Any errors: HIS fault...

"I thought it was a good game & we played very well defensively. For a pre-season friendly with the new players coming in and with a lot of them younger, we gelled as a team very quickly and playing against a very experienced team, we played our roles asked of us from the management team.

The first goal was a well worked free-kick taken quickly and it was a great finish from Kevin (Lusamba). The penalty I thought was definitely a penalty; I kicked the ball and then got tackled.

The third goal was a lucky deflection that looped it over the goalkeeper and the fourth goal was a great strike from Kyle (Stovell).

We defended very well and kept Coalville moving from side to side with no real threat moving forward and we were clinical with our strikes at goal and the efforts we had.

We have a great basis to build from and beating a team like Coalville with a young squad will do our confidence no harm at all. We wish Coalville all the best in their season in the Premier Division and hope they make a success there..."
