Monogem: She Can Do It Better…
Funk bites, the glow takes over,
Near Gemini and Cancer,
Where a torn supernova
Spawns vibes for the dancer
And tunes for her to sing
With honey harmonies,
For the Monogem Ring will
Dream those sweet melodies…
Silhouette…
Enticing dance vibe
Designed
To make her move, be close:
Poetry stark in an excitable symphony,
An insistent, fidgety cacophony,
But a shadow she’ll surely follow,
In its folds she’ll surely wallow,
Leaving all doubt
Well behind…
Follow You…
Haunting vocals echo,
Refined,
As lazy electronic beat drums
The percussion to a cacophony,
A synthesised symphony,
But she follows, she’ll yearn,
In wanting again, she’ll burn,
Craving the feel
In her mind…
Shoes tap beyond
The megaphonic, multi-track, witch-like
Vocals, which ingrain
And a strain of a French-like accordion
Brings to the mind the romance of the Seine…
The Glow…
Vocals so tight,
Numbing, losing myself
In the noise and the night,
As the instrumental grip,
An industrial disco trip
Grows
And a melodic light
Glows,
So that the trip, the fall, the fright
For which my mind is
Gunnin’,
Sets me down to hit the ground
Runnin’…
Wait and See…
Airy wraiths seduce,
Voices plaintive.
Tap shoes flick at the dumbing bass,
And the eyes, alive, are suddenly reactive…
Atmospheric, in dreams:
Hands clap a laid-back, mesmeric riff
And I wait and see…
The beat is easy, worked to induce
Me to feel not what it seems,
But then a chorus seems to uplift,
As suspense and heavy cleavers
Thump the base and reduce
Me to gallop, thrash and drift.
And then I wait
And then I see…
Stay With Me…
Stuttering, quickening, pouring
Into the refrain:
Groovy, beguiling, tuneful,
As bass thrums
Beneath close, smooth
Vocals, which echo and shake…
Can’t seem to think on it,
Ain’t got no words for it:
Stirred and yet stunned at it,
Unnerved, yet quite fooled by it:
The beat stays with me and drums
Inside my mind, once solemn and rueful…
Gone…
Atmosphere builds
Suggestively.
The beat excites
Addictively.
Walking on shingle, sighing,
As tracks intermingle, vying:
The vocals underlying
Decisively…
Then sensual shackles are rent,
Drums are beaten wantonly,
Clumped in abandonment,
As funk oozes, rampantly,
In thrill and contentment…
Thus, unchained with no fetters,
She’s Gone, coz she can do it better…
Take It Slow…
I could feel it on my skin,
As rhythmic clapping offset the sensuality of it,
Which upped it to beauty
In a chorus, cupped by crescendos
And the electronic thrill…
It took me slow across my skin,
As exultant backing-track freed the ambience of it,
Which took it to serenity
In a harmony gripped by flows
And a soporific chill…

Listening to the MONOGEM tracks listed above and how I have reacted to and thought about them…
‘The Glow’ turned my mind to Atlantic Starr, interestingly…
Lovely music…
Loved it.
