AFC BINLEY MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES REFLECTS ON THE 3-7 WIN AT HAWKESMILL...

"We got the game underway and started knocking the ball around nicely on a bobbly pitch; everyone seemed to be getting on the ball and it was good to see.

Unfortunately for us in the 12th minute Hawkesmill capitalised on a wayward pass and broke forward and scored giving Jordan Campbell no chance: 1-0.

We equalised in the 19th minute when a Kyle Metcalfe free-kick was converted by Blake Kassar: 1-1.

In the 25th minute, good work from Tyler Morgan was finished in fine style by Fabian Spence: 1-2. Tyler Morgan had two other good chances before half-time, both saved by the Hawkesmill goalkeeper.

Half-time 1-2...

Hawkesmill got the 2nd half underway but we were now in control of the game. In the 52nd minute Andy Godfrey linked up well with Jaydon Bickley whose cross was converted by Blake Kassar: 1-3.

Hawkesmill never gave up and reduced the deficit in the 62nd minute with another good finish: 2-3. We went straight down the other end though and a cross from Andy Godfrey was converted by Blake Kassar for his hat-trick: 2-4.

81 minutes and 2nd half substitute Kent Brewster set up Fabian Spence to score: 2-5. In the 84th minute Hawkesmill again reduced the deficit as a miss hit cross looped over Jordan Campbell into the net: 3-5.

85th minute a long kick forward from Jordan Campbell wasn't dealt with by the Hawkesmill defence and Kent Brewster took his opportunity to add to the scoring: 3-6.
We still had time for one more attack and Blake Kassar completed the scoring after a flick from Kent Brewster: 3-7 at full-time...

In summing up this game:

Once again the lads have bounced back after another setback in midweek. Hawkesmill never gave up and caused us several problems when they went forward and on another day they could have scored more goals themselves.

We converted a lot of the chances we created on the day with some very good finishes and the lads showed a lot of character coming back from a goal down to win this game.

The day was complete when I found out later that the reserve team had also won 5-3 away.

We have now played 7 games, winning 4, drawing 1 and losing 2 games, so it's still a good start for us.

I have used 24 players so far this season, so everyone has contributed to our start but I've got to say I am very happy to see the back of the midweek games.

We can now rest for a few days and then prepare for our next game which is Potters Green, away..."
