EDWIN GREAVES, THE AFC BINLEY MANAGER, WRITES ABOUT HIS TEAM'S 1-6 VICTORY AT TRIUMPH...

"Triumph started the better of the two sides with their lively number 9 causing us problems with his pace and willingness to chase everything. An early free kick wasn't defended well by us and we found ourselves a goal down after 3 minutes but once again the lads bounced back and kept their heads up.

We bounced back straight away when Will Waddell and Fabian Spence linked up well and Blake Kassar got us level at 1-1.

We then took the lead in the 17th minute after more good work from Fabian Spence who laid the ball off to Will Waddell, whose wonder strike went into the top corner.
The game was fairly even at this point until the 36th minute when we scored our 3rd goal. This goal was the goal of the game for me and a great team goal, starting from the left side and a pinpoint cross from Travis Smallwood was finished by Blake Kassar. This move involved about 5 or 6 players and was great to witness.

The 2nd half started with Triumph pushing us hard to get back into the game, however the lads defended well and restricted Triumph to half chances.
Our 4th goal came in the 61st minute and more good work from Travis Smallwood was finished by Will Waddell; he saw the 'keeper off his line and chipped him.
The 5th goal came soon afterwards with another fine finish, this time from Travis Smallwood and finally, not to be outdone, substitute Ashley Edwards scored with a fine shot to make the final score 1-6.

In summing up this game:

After a shaky start we managed to control this game with Triumph always causing us problems on the break. It wasn't until the 4th goal went in that I felt all the points were coming our way.

Again the lads at the back defended well but today we were better going forward as a team and I would say that this was our best performance so far this season.

Well, the first 7 days of the season have gone by so quickly and I am very happy to have collected 7 points from our first 3 games.

We now look forward to another difficult game on Tuesday night at home to Coventry Plumbing, another side who have also made a good start to the season."
