AFC BINLEY MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES COMMENTS ON HIS TEAM'S 3-7 WIN @ POTTERS GREEN ON SATURDAY...

"We got the game underway and we could not have got off to a better start. 2 minutes into the game and Justin Lang went on a run, beating a couple of Potters Green players before getting to the by-line and pulling the ball back for Blake Kassar to score from close range: 0-1.

10 minutes into the game Will Waddell broke up play and passed the ball to Kyle Metcalfe whose defence splitting pass set Tyler Morgan free. Tyler raced clear, rounded the goalkeeper and slotted the ball home with a Potters Green defender trying desperately to stop the ball crossing the line: 0-2.

19 minutes and a Will Waddell cross was headed in by Tyler Morgan: 0-3.

On 23 minutes Potters Green pulled a goal back from a long range shot by the number 8 which gave Jordan Campbell no chance: 1-3.

At 35 minutes a long kick forward from Jordan Campbell wasn't dealt with by the Potters Green defence, Kyle Metcalfe hit the woodwork and Tyler Morgan was the first to react and complete his hat trick: 1-4.
On 43 minutes a Will Waddell corner was converted by Arron Laming: 1-5.

Half-time: 1-5.

The 2nd half saw Potters Green on the front foot and Jordan Campbell was forced to make a good save low to his right.
On 53 minutes a Will Waddell free-kick was headed in by skipper Steven Young: 1-6.
In the 56th minute Potters Green pulled a goal back from the penalty spot as Arron Laming was penalised for a tackle in the box: 2-6.

At 63 minutes Potters Green reduced the deficit further when a long range shot found the top corner of the net: 3-6.

In the 71st minute we nearly increased our lead further but a Daniel Vincent shot was cleared off the line. The scoring was completed in the 90th minute when Travis Smallwood got to the by-line and pulled the ball back for Fabian Spence to score: 3-7.

Full-time 3-7.

In summing up this game:

We got off to the best possible start with an early goal and never looked back. To score 3 goals in the first 20 minutes meant we were always in control of this game but Potters Green never gave up and scored the goal of the game to get back into this match. We looked dangerous every time we attacked but believe it or not, we weren't at our best in front of goal today.

The most important thing is that we managed to get the 3 points we needed today and record back to back victories for the first time this season.

Potters Green always kept going forward and worked hard throughout the 90 minutes.

We have now played 8 games of our season, so a third of our season has come and gone in 4 weeks. We have continued to build on our good start so far and our squad has been tested to the maximum.

Up next is another tricky away game to Athletic Sparta next Saturday, who have also made a good start to the season, so this could be a potentially difficult afternoon for us if we cannot maintain our standards of late..."
