EDWIN GREAVES, AFC BINLEY MANAGER, REPORTS ON HIS TEAM'S 2-4 WIN AT STOCKTON...

"Stockton started the game, but it was us that started the game on the front foot.

In fact we had the ball in the back of the net as early as the 4th minute but the goal was disallowed because the referee thought Fabian Spence had pushed the Stockton goalkeeper.

We eventually took the lead in the 17th minute when Tyler Morgan scored from a Will Waddell freekick: 0-1...

Stockton hit back in the 22nd minute when a cross from the right was finished in fine style by the Stocton centre forward. The game was very open at this stage with Daniel Vincent and Blake Kassar forcing good saves from the Stockton goalkeeper.

HT: 1-1

The 2nd half again saw us start the better of the two sides with Fabian Spence hitting the crossbar with our first attack.

In the 66th minute we went ahead again with good work from Tyler Morgan and a through pass from Steven Young which found Fabian Spence. His shot was almost saved by the Stockton goalkeeper: 1-2 though...

In the 69th minute a Curtis Smallwood free-kick was converted by Tyler Morgan: 1-3...

Stockton again hit back in the 74th minute when the Stockton centre forward finished well for his 2nd goal of the game: 2-3...

In the 81st minute a Will Waddell pass was converted by Fabian Spence: 2-4...

Both sides still had more good opportunities to score and both teams had good penalty appeals turned down but the game finished 2-4.

In summing up this game:

This game, although very early into the season, was our 5th game in 3 weeks. We lost in midweek so it was really important to bounce back from that setback.

In front of us was a good Stockton side who had previously won all four of their games. Today we just about coped with Stockton's attacking players but managed to win our other battles across the pitch.

Both sides looked dangerous when they attacked and at times this game was end to end but over 90 minutes I think we created more opportunities.

I don't think many sides will be beating Stockton at home so this was a massive 3 points for us today and I am very pleased with how the players performed.

More good news soon followed when I heard that the Reserves had won their first game of the season too, so it was a good day all round for the club.

Up next for us is another midweek match away to Coventry Sky Blues, Thursday, 6pm kick-off !!"
