MOUSEHOLE: DECEMBER 2019...

Mousehole: December 2019…

The strong winds had dropped
Imperceptibly,
The vindictive rains had halted,
Remarkably,
The cruel dark had descended,
Infallibly…

The tumultuous sea then leaped
Impressively,
The soaring waves then reared
Decisively,
The tide’s wall then dropped,
Oppressively…

Yet within the quay,
As surging waves hurried
Across the harbour walls,
Insolently,
The three ships shook and worried
And the large lamp involuntarily shuddered…
Yet both, lit by coloured bulbs,
Retained their security,
Defiantly,
Beneath a veil, a rush, a thunderous squall
Of angry, breaking ocean, designed to appal…

Mousehole harbour, its Christmas lights bright and shaking on the water, suffered from huge, treacherous waves surging over the sea-walls, spite the lack of any driving wind…

Spectacular stuff…
