TETHERED CURLEWS, MARAZION...

Tethered Curlews, Marazion…

Hustling tides parted to negotiate
The Mount, then rushed on
At an angle, a narrow causeway flooding,
Before stumbling against a rocky outcrop, 
Driven on by a brisk December gale;
Its hues tended to variegate,
An earlier tranquility gone,
Yet curlews weathered the elements, brooding,
Leaning into the wind, atop
The rock, incongruous, yet unassailed…

The waters parted past St Michael’s Mount then rushed round the rocky feature near a causeway, yet in a strong wind, curlews lined up, managing to balance in the awful weather…
