Biplanes & Damselflies…
Lined up like Sopwith Camels
On an airstrip at Manston, Kent
In 1917, idling ready for take-off
And combat with dogfights
For home defence,
A trio of damselflies
On a wooden rail at Holkham, Norfolk
In 2021 lingered, ready for take-off
And spectacular aerial flights
Around a sunlit fence…

Holkham and a number of damselflies landing close to the boardwalk which takes visitors from the car-park to the beach…
Reminded me of biplanes on a runway during WW1…
