IN, OUT & SHAKEN ALL ABOUT... (A fidgety badger at Temple Balsall, 5th July 2023...)

 In, Out & Shaken All About…

In the case of White Tail there was likely little doubt

That slices of cooked ham and scattered Crunchy Nut cereal brought about

A quick appearance in the copse next to the quiet lane,

Until that is, three vehicles passed by with engines’ loud refrain,

Which separately forced White Tail into rapid disappearances.

Then goaded by the feast, each time it made cautious reappearances,

Until ludicrously, several motorcyclists passed by in convoy,

Designed it seemed to disturb the feeding frenzy, a ploy

To interrupt the badger’s evening foraging no doubt,

 So that White Tail was in, then out and truly shaken all about…

A badger had apparently watched me check the water bowls before food was sprinkled about. 

Cereal, some slices of ham, as well as badger/fox food and peanuts had only been there for a few moments before White Tail emerged and fed with relish.

Incredibly, three cars then passed by in a period of a few moments, so each time the badger rushed back into its sett, quickly came back out again to feed and shook its white tail about.

When a line of motor cycles went past, likely part of the training for or an examination of learners, it was like several biplanes were taxiing along the lane and White Tail fled…

…but not for long…
