Breathe It In…
(Inspired by Sue Read’s painting of Bude, Cornwall…)
One could breathe in the breezy Cornish air, sweet
Yet soured by the distinct aroma of brown weed, sullied
And slung about by a hurrying, spilling, white capped tide
Which spills and seeps over Bude beach, hosed and bullied…
A myriad of sky’s blues and stained grey, lingers above the ocean,
Its salty zest strong, as it thrashes between permeating orange clouds
And their reflections upon the damp, dragged and coruscating sand.
The senses reel at the freshness, which infiltrates, immerses and shrouds…
