HEALTH & SAFETY: THE CONTROLLED BURNING OF THE BUSH... (My limerick about visiting Mount Sinai in 2012...)

 Health and Safety:

The Controlled Burning of the Bush…

At St Catherine’s monastery, it is said

That the Burning Bush glowed intensely red.

So in case the fire should re-ignite,

An extinguisher was placed strategically onsite,

So the monks may sleep safely abed…

Pete Ray…

It snowed when I visited Mount Sinai from a Red Sea resort in February 2012…

I wasn’t warned about the likely temperature there, so I wore a polo shirt and of course light trousers for visiting a monastery…

Folks who had been collected from other hotels had been told to take something warm…

I threw a snowball…

The hotel staff at Nabq Bay didn’t believe me and I had to show them my images. They had never seen snow before…

The following day, on a similar excursion to Mount Sinai, some Americans were waylaid by Bedouins, before being released unharmed…
