THE FOUNTAIN AT STANWAY... (My poem about the fountain at Stanway, Gloucestershire...)

 The Fountain At Stanway…

From the tranquility of the lake,

Basking on its terrace

In rare July heat,

A spring water jet gushed

Vertically, like a geyser,

The Cotswold silence to break…

From the calm of the lake,

Rising to its zenith

In searing summer heat,

The white water column rushed

Upwards, like a firework,

Its power and impression to make…

From three hundred feet above the lake,

Spilling its silver stars

In baking Stanway heat,

The cold water spray hushed

Downwards, like a cascade,

Streams on sloping lawns to fake…

The remarkable Stanway House fountain, 2018…

And no local water supplies were affected…
