SOUTHAM UNITED 0-4 COVENTRY UNITED: THE VIEWS OF SOUTHAM MANAGER TERRY DAVIDSON, COVENTRY UNITED MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES & COVENTRY UNITED DEFENDER ROB PRINZEL... ALSO THE LINK TO 18 VIDEO CLIPS...

SOUTHAM UNITED MANAGER TERRY DAVIDSON COMMENTS ON THE 0-4 LOSS TO LEAGUE-LEADERS COVENTRY UNITED:

"Since I accepted the job at Southam until the end of the season, the Cov Utd fixture had been one which I was looking forward to. My view is and always will be that you play the game in order to test yourselves against the best.

In reality though the fixture probably came a bit too soon for us. We are trying to create a young hungry side that will keep us in this league.

In patches we played well today but a team that's in the form that Utd are will always break down a team low in confidence. There are many positives for me to take and my lads can be proud.

It will click for us because we will fight for it until it clicks!

If I was a betting man then my money is on Utd for the league.

I wish Edwin and the boys well."

Terry.

COVENTRY UNITED MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES WRITES ABOUT HIS TEAM'S 0-4 VICTORY @ SOUTHAM:

"Considering the two teams' positions in the table before this game started, we knew we were expected to win.

Two goals in the 1st half from Coxy and an excellent free-kick from Josh O'Grady gave us a lead at the break. In truth, although we tried to play our football, it wasn't easy with the pitch being very uneven.

Several passes went astray by both sides but we deserved our 1st half lead.
Although we were in control of the game Southam came more into it and almost scored when a long-range shot hit the crossbar.

We added two more goals late on from Ross Briscoe and Matty Brown to give the scoreline a healthy look and send the travelling Red and Green Army home happy.

In summing up this game, we did what we needed to do against a Southam side that never gave up.

3 points was a must for us and add that to our midweek win, its been a good week for us. At this stage of the season it's just about getting as many points on the board as possible and see what our rivals do.

I now move my thoughts onto our next game, at home to in-form Nuneaton Griff.
Everybody knows how important this game is in the scheme of things, however whatever the result nothing will be decided in the 1st week of March.

I am sure there will be a big crowd for this game and I am hoping we do ourselves justice and make the Red and Green Army proud of us."

Edwin.

COVENTRY DEFENDER ROB PRINZEL COMMENTS ON THE GAME:

"We entered the game feeling confident on the back of a strong second-half performance from midweek in our 3-1 win over Racing Club Warwick. Today was a tough game, mainly caused by a poor pitch where we struggled to get into our usual passing game but we stayed calm and kept trying to play football, eventually coming out on top.

3 points secured and a nice 5 point cushion at the top of the league. We will need to improve next week against Nuneaton Griff to ensure we keep up our title challenge though.

I would like to say a massive thank you to the Coventry United fans who travel home and away each week and also for welcoming me back to the club..."

Rob.
