AFC BINLEY MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES REPORTS ON HIS TEAM'S 2-3 LOSS TO STOCKTON FC...

"Stockton got the game underway and it wasn't long before we were under pressure; in the 2nd minute a mistake from Tatenda Bako gave Stockton their first opportunity but Ryan Oldham pulled off a good save.

Another opportunity fell to Stockton in the 16th minute, however the number 7 somehow shot over the target from 6 yards.

We had our 1st opportunity soon afterwards when good work from Bennie Adeeko set up Andy Godfrey but the Stockton goalkeeper saved with his legs.

Next came another opportunity for the Stockton number 10, who rounded Ryan Oldham only to shot wide from a narrow angle.

In the 28th minute Stockton number 6 had a free header from a corner but again Ryan Oldham pulled off a good save.

In the 32nd minute an Andy Godfrey corner found Fabian Spence whose header forced an excellent save from the Stockton goalkeeper.

In the 42nd minute Stockton did eventually take the lead when Fabian Spence was caught in possession and Stockton scored on the break: 0-1..."

Half-time AFC Binley 0-1 Stockton...

"We got the game underway in the 2nd half but again Stockton had a great opportunity to increase their lead; in the 58th minute the Stockton number 10 went around Ryan Oldham but somehow managed to hit a post.

In the 59th minute Stockton did score when their number 5 scored straight from a corner that everyone missed: 0-2...

In the 66th minute Ryan Lally and Zach Garland were replaced by Samuel Zengeya and Tyler Morgan.

Our next chance came from an Andy Godfrey cross, however Fabian Spence headed over.

We did eventually reduce the deficit when Bennie Adeeko scored in the 73rd minute with a low shot: 1-2...

Stockton increased their lead in the 77th minute from a corner, from which the number 6 scored with a fine header: 1-3...

Sean Ryder was soon replaced by Dave Simpson.

We got a late consolation goal in the 91st minute when Dave Simpson scored from close range: 2-3..."

Full-time AFC Binley 2-3 Stockton...

In Summing Up This Game:

"This was a very close game with both sides hoping for a successful season.

Stockton came out on top and deserved their win.
Ryan Oldham had the busier afternoon out of the two goalkeepers.

We have now suffered 3 defeats in our opening 8 games, which is not the form we need at any stage of the season.

It's early days yet but unfortunately we are not where I would like us to be at the current time, yet we are not far away.

The lads are working very hard to improve and I know that they will always bounce back from a setback.

Best of luck to Stockton for the rest of the season.

Up next for us is a home game versus Coventry Colliery Reserves."

AFC Binley Manager...
