"Shilton got the game underway and played some neat football.
We however took the lead in the 18th minute with the first bit of good football as Tatenda Bako won the ball, passed to Zach Garland who in turn passed to Fabian Spence; he drove into the box to score: 1-0.
Shilton responded straight away and forced a corner but this was headed off the line by Ryan Lally from the Shilton number 6's shot.
In the 29th minute we had a chance to double our lead but Fabian Spence missed the penalty we were awarded.
In the 44th minute the Shilton number 8 took a free-kick which the number 4 headed against the crossbar and it flew to safety."
Half-time: AFC Binley 1-0 Shilton.
"We got the game underway in the 2nd half and it wasn't long before a Kyle Metcalfe crossfield pass found Fabian Spence who forced the Shilton goalkeeper into the save of the game so far to keep his side in the game.
In the 59th minute Shilton were awarded a penalty when Tatenda Bako was adjudged to have committed a foul.
The Shilton number 9 took the penalty but Dave Simpson pulled off an excellent full-length save to keep the ball out.
The game became more open as in the 66th minute Steven Young hit the crossbar with his long range shot.
In the 70th minute Sean Ryder and Zach Garland were replaced by Bennie Adeeko and Tyler Morgan.
In the 79th minute a Kyle Metcalfe through-pass found Bennie Adeeko in space, who ran through and scored: 2-0.
Shilton again responded in fine fashion, forcing another corner from which again Dave Simpson pulled off a great save to stop the Shilton number 6 from scoring.
In the 85th minute Fabian Spence was replaced by Kenroy Dennisur.
In the 88th minute Bennie Adeeko missed an excellent opportunity to score when he shot over from close range with only the goalkeeper to beat.
In the 94th minute Shilton got the goal they deserved when they were awarded their 2nd penalty of the game and this time the Shilton number 10 took it and gave Dave Simpson no chance: 2-1."
Full-time: AFC Binley 2-1 Shilton.
In Summing Up This Game:
"The result of this game was in doubt up until the 98th minute.
I was happy that the lads got all 3 points but Shilton will probably wonder how they didn't get anything out of this game.
We are still not killing teams off when we are on top and still have room to improve.
The lads are working very hard to improve and I am pretty glad that we have no midweek game next week.
All the best to Shilton for the rest of the season.
Up next for us is Stockton who are currently top of the table, at home."
