AFC BINLEY'S MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES WRITES ABOUT HIS TEAM'S 1-4 WIN AT CRICK ATHLETIC...

"Crick started the game and played the better football in the opening 10 minutes, taking a deserved lead in the 12th minute from a nicely worked corner: 1-0.

We continued to struggle but thought we had drawn level in the 17th minute when Tyler Morgan had a great goal disallowed for offside.
In the 30th minute Blake Kassar was replaced by Bennie Adeeko.

In the 42nd minute Tatenda Bako was fouled and from the resulting free-kick Fabian Spence picked out Tyler Morgan, who scored against the run of play: 1-1.

Crick still had time to force Ryan Oldham to make a good save before half-time."

Half-time: Crick Athletic 1-1 AFC Binley...

"The 2nd half started and we began to cause Crick some problems for the first time during the afternoon.
Opportunities were created and missed by Tyler Morgan, Kevin Clamp and Fabian Spence before we finally got the goal we deserved.

In the 63rd minute a David Simpson free-kick was flicked on by Tyler Morgan for Bennie Adeeko to score: 1-2.

On 72 minutes Kyle Metcalfe was replaced by Justin Lang.

In the 76th minute an Arron Laming throw to Fabian Spence caught Crick out and he fed Justin Lang in the box to score: 1-3.

Fabian Spence was replaced by Will Waddell.
and in the 84th minute good work from Sebastian Kassar forced a corner. Will Waddell took the resulting corner for Arron Laming to head home: 1-4."

Full-time: Crick Athletic 1-4 AFC Binley...

In Summing Up This Game:

"Crick Athletic were by far the better team in the 1st half and played some lovely football and they deserved their lead.

We somehow hung on though and got a goal against the run of play.

Coming out in the 2nd half on level terms was a bonus for us and the longer the game went on, the better and stronger we got.

3 goals in the last 30 minutes gave us what looks like a convincing scoreline but in truth, this was another uncomfortable afternoon for us.

On the plus side we stuck together, dug deep and came out the other side with a win.

On the negative side, we still need to improve all over the pitch before our next game on Tuesday night.
For me, hopefully our 1st win of the season will give the lads a bit more confidence and we can now kick on from here..."

AFC Binley Manager...
