AFC BINLEY'S MANAGER EDWIN GREAVES REPORTS ON HIS TEAM'S 2-4 LOSS TO JAGUAR DAIMLER...

"We got the game underway and started putting Jag Daimler under pressure.

Tyler Morgan had the first chance of the game when through 1on1 with the goalkeeper but he pulled his shot wide.

Aaron Laming had our next opportunity but his header brought a fine save from the Jag Daimler goalkeeper.

In the 20th minute we eventually got the goal we deserved when an Andy Godfrey cross found Tyler Morgan, who made no mistake from close range: 1-0.

Jag Daimler levelled the scores in the 24th minute when Ryan Oldham made a fine save; however, as the ball rebounded off the crossbar the number 9 reacted quickest to head into an empty net: 1-1.

In the 28th minute Jag Daimler turned the game on its head when a speculative shot hit Aaron Laming and went in: 1-2.

Jag Daimler finished the half the better side and took their lead into half-time."

Half-Time: AFC Binley 1-2 Jag Daimler...

"The 2nd half started and Jag Daimler soon increased their lead in the 60th minute, when a shot this time took a deflection off Samuel Zengeya and again gave Ryan Oldham no chance: 1-3.

In the 72nd minute Jag Daimler put the game to bed when a shot hit the crossbar and their forward was on hand to put in the rebound: 1-4.

In the 90th minute a Blake Kassar shot was well saved by the Jag Daimler goalkeeper but Steven Young was on hand to score from close range: 2-4."

Full-Time: AFC Binley 2-4 Jag Daimler...

In Summing Up This Game:

"Jag Daimler deserved their win and all the best goes to them for the rest of the season.

We, on the other hand have suffered a massive setback to our hopes for another promotion.

This was not a great way to start the New Year but it is what it is... Jag Daimler were well organised and we struggled after a bright start to break them down and put them under pressure.

They took their chances and moved the ball around nicely at times.

We now have to pick ourselves up and brush ourselves down and go again; these lads always bounce back so with no more wiggle-room and our backs against the wall, I will wait to see what happens next.

I for one am not giving up on our season's target of promotion yet, but after this defeat I realise that we now have a mountain to climb.

Until it is mathematically impossible for us to get promoted we will give it our all and hope that one of our rivals slips up.

Up next for us is Coundon Court Old Boys at home; we lost to them earlier in the season 2-0, so we know that we are in for another difficult afternoon.

'A Happy New Year To You All' and I hope 2019 brings you everything you wish for and more..."
